Dabbling in photography since his teens, Dennis has always exhibited a keen eye for composition, shape, colour and light. His profession as a dentist required a steady hand, working to accuracy counted in millimeters. Carving requires a combination of these skills. Years of having lived in northern B.C. kindled a respect for the beauty of wood.
Although he has only been carving for about four years, he found it easy to adapt some of his well-honed professional techniques to successfully working with this medium. Dennis allows each piece of wood to dictate it's finished form as he works.
