These landscapes by Linda Walton are taking her work in a new direction requiring a different approach to materials. While known for her water colours and ceramics, in order to explore this subject matter she felt she needed another material. Glass seemed to be the answer. The use of mixed media helps describe the capriciousness and moods of the elements.
Documenting the coastline of the Salish Sea around her home on Vancouver Island with photography and sketched, she makes composite drawings as well as notes on what she is hoping to achieve with each piece.
