🌿 New Artist Alert — Welcome, Marc Baur

We're delighted to welcome Salt Spring Island artist Marc Baur to The Gallery at Mattick's Farm.

Marc doesn't paint with pigment. He builds west-coast landscapes from paper, an impressionist take on Chigiri-e, the ancient Japanese art of creating with torn and cut sheets. Thick layers of dyed, acid-free paper, sealed in crystal polymer and ultraviolet protectant. The surfaces are rich with texture, colour, and light. You almost want to run your hand across them.

Eight new works are now on view, including Summers End and the large triptychs Upper World and First Light. Pieces range from 24" × 48" to a 48" × 90" triptych, with prices from $1,500–$5,600.
